A NEW STOP IN IZMIR’S ART ROUTE:
ARKAS ART ALACATI
Arkas Art took another step towards becoming the “Art Route in Izmir” through the exhibitions and events offered to art lovers so far and opened the fifth art center in Alacati, a holiday destination in Cesme, Izmir.
Arkas and the Municipality of Cesme signed a protocol that allowed the land belonging to the municipality to be allocated to Arkas for 30 years. This art center is expected to enrich the culture and art activities in Cesme.
Arkas Art Alacati hosts several exhibitions by local and international artists as well as workshops and events from various disciplines for all age groups. Opening with two different exhibitions, one permanent and one time-limited, the center will be at art lovers’ disposal throughout the year with artists’ speeches, workshops, representations and other events that will accompany these exhibitions.
The Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) exhibition, one of the important representatives of the Op Art movement, awaits visitors permanently in the Lucien Arkas Exhibition Hall at Arkas Art Alacati. This exhibition was compiled from the artist’s pieces of work present in the Arkas Art Collection.
At Arkas Art Alacati, there is a multi-purpose event hall of 155 square meters downstairs. Here, the center holds art events of various themes and workshops for kids. Visitors can also attend events with different concepts such as concerts, movies and interviews in the open-air auditorium for 80 people, where one can get through the same multi-purpose hall.
In addition to spacious exhibition halls and event areas, Arkas Art Alacati is also a delightful stop for visitors thanks to the museum store and Monreve Patisserie.
